New to the speed skating scene, Steve always loved being on
the ice as a kid. After watching the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002,
speed skating was in the back of his mind as he grew up playing many other
sports. Steve was a successful high school tennis and soccer player, and was able
to pursue his love for tennis at the collegiate level. In the summer of 2014,
Steve discovered an opportunity to try speed skating in Cleveland. Determined
to excel at this new sport, he moved to
Milwaukee in January of 2015 to train
with Kreg Greer and his team at the Pettit National Ice Center.
Currently a student at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee,
Steve is studying Geoscience. In his free time, Steve can often be found with a
camera around his neck, exploring new hiking trails, or just relaxing with
friends and family. Steve’s other interests include skiing, basketball,
traveling, and cooking.
